Juhee Lee
Violinist, Educator, Pastor, and Community Leader

Juhee Lee is a distinguished violinist, educator, and pastor whose journey seamlessly intertwines music and ministry. With a deep passion for using music as a tool for healing, outreach, and spiritual connection, she has dedicated her life to serving both through artistic excellence and pastoral care. Juhee began playing the violin at the age of five, demonstrating early talent and dedication. In 2002, she graduated at the top of her class from the University of Seoul with a Bachelor of Music in Violin Performance. She then pursued advanced studies in Germany, obtaining a Performance Diploma from the Robert Schumann Musik Hochschule in 2005. Her exceptional artistry led her to the United States, where she was awarded a full scholarship at Georgia State University in 2010. During her time there, she won the prestigious Brumby Concerto Competition and earned her Master of Music degree in 2012. Beyond her musical career, Juhee felt a deep calling to ministry. Responding to God’s guidance, she pursued theological studies and was awarded the Dean’s Fellowship Scholarship at Boston University School of Theology. She graduated Magna Cum Laude with a Master of Divinity in 2020. Now serving as the pastor of Haven United Methodist Church in Rhode Island, she integrates her passion for music with her pastoral work, fostering healing and community engagement through both spiritual and musical outreach. Juhee’s commitment to music education and outreach led her to establish the Community Music Project (CMP) in 2020, initially as a free music school at Haven UMC. Under her leadership, CMP grew into an independent nonprofit organization in 2024, dedicated to providing accessible music education and performance opportunities for all. The project serves as a bridge between faith and music, cultivating a space where individuals of all backgrounds can find healing and joy through artistic expression. She has organized and performed in over ten benefit concerts, raising awareness and funds for various humanitarian causes, including Turkey & Syria Earthquake Relief, Healing Guatemala, East Bay Community Action Program Food Pantry, East Providence Coalition, and local community aid and disaster relief efforts. Through these performances, Juhee continues to use her musical gifts as a means of service, bringing together musicians and audiences for a greater purpose. Juhee has an extensive performance history as a soloist, chamber musician, and orchestral player. She has performed at the Chung-Ju Women’s Cultural Festival, Seoul Arts Center, World Methodist Conference in Seoul, Pyoungchon Arts Hall, and with various orchestras, including performing Mendelssohn’s Violin Concerto in E Minor with Georgia College and State University Orchestra, Sibelius Violin Concerto with Georgia State University Orchestra, and Zigeunerweisen with the Korean Church of Atlanta UMC Orchestra. As a chamber and orchestral musician, she served as the first chair violinist for the Christian Television Station (CTS) Orchestra in Korea and performed with the New Philharmonia Orchestra in Newton, MA. Juhee has also been deeply engaged in community leadership, organizing charity concerts supporting hurricane relief, free music education, and local communities. She founded a free music school at Haven UMC, which later expanded into the Community Music Project, and actively collaborates with faith-based and community organizations to promote music as a means of healing and transformation. Her work bridges artistry, faith, and service, fostering meaningful connections through music while uplifting those in need. Whether through her performances, pastoral leadership, or community initiatives, she remains dedicated to inspiring hope, unity, and healing through the transformative power of music and ministry.
